Featured Volunteer – Brandon Shuey

Ambitious is an understatement to describe SCL volunteer intern, Brandon Shuey. Brandon came to us via the UMKC Pre-dental Society in April of this year. We feel very fortunate to have Brandon’s enthusiasm and dedication to the mission of SCL!

“Volunteering has always been a passion of mine. It’s fun, challenging and highly rewarding. Not only does it help build your resume, but you get to build relationships with people you work with. When I hear about children receiving help because of the support I bring to SCL, I feel awesome. I leave the office with the knowledge that I have done something good for someone. As a future dentist (hopefully), SCL fulfills a need in the community, and I came here to do my best and make a difference!”

Along with volunteering this summer, Brandon is taking anatomy at JCCC, and doing research with K-state horticulture lab located in Olathe. He is also training for a marathon in November, has recently just started an internet t-shirt business, and is planning to run for his city council this fall. In his free time, Brandon enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching live music, and spending time outside in the sun!

Thank you Brandon for your invaluable support in bracing kids for a better future!
